Đặng Thị Hồng is still present at the 2025 National A-Grade Volleyball Championship.

Although currently banned from participating in official volleyball tournaments organized by VFV, Đặng Thị Hồng still appeared at the final round of the 2025 National A-Grade Volleyball Championship. Naturally, she was there in a different capacity.

Đặng Thị Hồng makes an appearance at the National A-Grade Volleyball Championship.

Born in 2006 in Bắc Kạn, Đặng Thị Hồng is an inspiring figure. From a small Dao ethnic girl in Pác Nặm with a modest physique, she passed many qualifying rounds to shine at the Thái Nguyên Sports Center before joining Kinh Bắc Bắc Ninh (2023), Ninh Bình (2024), and recently being loaned to Ngân Hàng Công Thương in phase 1 of the 2025 National Championship. As captain of Vietnam’s U21 team at the 2025 VTV Cup, Hồng stood out with her aggressive attacking style and flexible defense.

However, the FIVB ban following the controversy at the U21 World Championship in August 2025 caused her to miss phase 2 of the National Championship, raising questions about her elite playing career. Nevertheless, earlier, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) and Thái Nguyên Club facilitated her enrollment in a coaching course from early 2025, opening a new pathway for this young talent.

At the 2025 National A-Grade Volleyball finals, although not registered to compete, Đặng Thị Hồng was present, representing Thái Nguyên Club or assisting the youth team. The assistant coach role seemed appropriate, where she could leverage her international playing experience to support tactics, analyze opponents, and mentor young players. This exemplifies a smooth transition from athlete to coach, turning challenges into opportunities. With the leadership qualities she demonstrated at U21, Hồng is expected to inspire, elevate performance quality, and help Thái Nguyên fight for promotion.

The 2025 A-Grade Championship has attracted considerable attention due to the participation of several national players and the allowance of foreign recruits. For Thái Nguyên, missing a star like Đặng Thị Hồng is unfortunate, but it also opens a new path for her. Fans hope that with backing from VFV and the community, talents like Hồng will continue to shine and help Vietnamese women's volleyball advance, regardless of their role.
