After Thanh Thúy and Bích Thủy, Vietnamese women's volleyball sees another athlete heading overseas to play.
Once the 2025 National Championship season concludes, middle blocker Lý Thị Luyến is likely to play abroad. According to reports, she will join Hobby Ace Club, one of Mongolia's most prestigious teams.
Lý Thị Luyến is regarded as one of the tallest and most impressive middle blockers in Vietnamese women's volleyball today (1.95m). She is currently part of the Hóa chất Đức Giang Lào Cai women's volleyball team.
In the 2023 season, Lý Thị Luyến was a member of the Vietnam women's volleyball team participating in significant tournaments such as the Asian Championship and ASIAD 19.
The contract with Hobby Ace not only opens development opportunities for Lý Thị Luyến personally but also marks an important milestone for Vietnamese volleyball in the regional arena.
The Mongolian Championship is increasingly developing, attracting many foreign players from South Korea, Japan, and Thailand. Therefore, a Vietnamese athlete being selected reflects the recognition of the reputation and professional quality of Vietnamese women's volleyball.
Currently, Vietnamese women's volleyball has two players competing abroad: Trần Thị Thanh Thúy and Trần Thị Bích Thủy. Both are playing for clubs in the Japanese National Championship this season.
