The 2025 National A-Class Volleyball Championship installs 'VAR' for the first time

The Video Challenge Eyes system will be implemented for the first time during the finals of the 2025 National A-Class Volleyball Championship.

The Video Challenge Eyes system will be used for the first time at the finals of the 2025 National A-Class Volleyball Championship, marking a significant advancement in the organization and management of Vietnamese volleyball.

According to the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, this system will be installed and utilized starting from the semifinal and final matches for both men’s and women’s categories. The group stage will not use the “eye” technology due to technical limitations and installation costs. This is the first time a domestic A-class tournament is equipped with technology previously exclusive to national championships and major international competitions.

The Video Challenge Eyes system allows referees to review situations from multiple angles, enabling more accurate decisions in sensitive plays such as hand touches, in/out of bounds calls, or blocking faults. Implementing this technology not only enhances fairness but also improves the professional quality and image of the tournament.
