ATP Vienna Open: Sinner narrowly defeats Zverev to claim his fourth title of the season

On October 26, 2025, the ATP 500 Vienna Open wrapped up in Austria, with top seed Sinner rallying from a set down to narrowly defeat Zverev 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in a 2-hour and 28-minute match. This triumph is his second at this tournament since 2023, his fourth title this year, and the 22nd overall in his career. In doubles, second seeds Kaczorowski and Graspur won the championship by beating Cabral and Middler 6-1, 7-6(6).

Sinner

The top seeds performed consistently in the men’s singles draw, with the first four seeds reaching the semifinals. The top two seeds, Sinner and Zverev, advanced to meet in the final. Before the match, their head-to-head stood at 4-3 in favor of Zverev, although he had lost the last two encounters against Sinner. In the opening set, Zverev played strongly, saving all break points and seizing a break in the fourth game to take the set 6-3. In the second set, Sinner adjusted his tactics, secured one break, and leveled the match by winning 6-3. In the decisive set, both players held serve tightly until the 11th game, where Sinner converted his third break point of the set, holding serve to clinch a 7-5 victory and the championship.

In his acceptance speech, Sinner expressed gratitude to his team, family, and friends, and for the first time publicly mentioned his girlfriend, Danish model Lærke Hasanovich. “Every title has its own meaning, and this tournament is very close to my home — many people can even drive here. I saw my first tennis coach and ski coach in the stands, so winning in front of them made this victory very special.” Hasanovich is a Danish model who was a finalist in the 2023 Miss Denmark pageant and was previously linked to F1 champion Michael Schumacher’s son, Mick Schumacher.
