Jannik Sinner came from behind to defeat Zverev and claim his second Vienna Open title.

Jannik Sinner faced a challenging battle in the 2025 Vienna Open final versus Alexander Zverev.

Sinner concluded his week in Vienna with a thrilling 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Alexander Zverev in last night’s final on October 26th, Vietnam time. After dropping the first set, the 24-year-old displayed great resilience to secure the 22nd title of his career and lifted the trophy at this ATP 500 event for the second time.

Two years ago, Sinner won the championship in a similarly intense match against Daniil Medvedev. This result extended his streak to 21 consecutive wins on indoor hard courts — an impressive record ahead of the Paris Masters, the final ATP 1000 tournament of the season.

Against a very challenging opponent, Sinner started slowly and allowed Zverev the only break-point in the first set. The German player took advantage of his powerful serve to lead 1-0, but Sinner quickly responded in the second set by pulling ahead 3-0 and maintained control to even the match at one set all.

The deciding set was highly intense. Zverev saved two break-points in the fifth game, yet Sinner kept up the pressure with solid rallies and powerful down-the-line backhands. Despite dealing with a thigh issue, the 2001-born player fought bravely. He secured the crucial break in the 11th game and closed out the match with a flawless service game.

"The third set was quite chaotic, but I had good feel on the ball and chose to attack. I’m very happy to win another title; it feels very special."Sinner shared after the match.

This victory in Vienna brings Sinner’s total titles this season to four, following wins at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and Beijing. The Italian star is heading into the Paris Masters in excellent form, firmly establishing himself as a top contender for the upcoming ATP Finals championship.
