Men’s tennis has become accustomed to the "Sinner – Alcaraz" matchup as the pair prepare to clash in their third straight Grand Slam final. Who will claim the 2025 US Open title?
At Roland Garros in June, Carlos Alcaraz mounted an impressive comeback after trailing 0–2 to defeat Jannik Sinner 3-2 and win the championship. However, just a month later at Wimbledon, the Italian player successfully avenged that loss, stopping Alcaraz from securing a hat-trick of Grand Slam titles on grass.
Sinner and Alcaraz, currently holding the number one and two ATP rankings respectively, will face off in the men’s singles final of the 2025 US Open at Flushing Meadows. According to Marca, a supercomputer has predicted Sinner as the favorite to claim both hard-court Grand Slam titles this year.
The supercomputer predicts Jannik Sinner will win the 2025 US Open.
Data indicates Sinner has a 57.2% chance of winning, while Alcaraz stands at 42.8%, even though the Spanish player won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open three years ago.
Previously, Alcaraz halted Novak Djokovic’s pursuit of a record 25th Grand Slam title with a dominant 3–0 victory over the 38-year-old Serbian legend. On the other side, defending champion Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, keeping alive his hopes to defend the title in New York. If successful, this would be his fourth Grand Slam title in the last five events.
In their head-to-head record, Alcaraz leads 9-5. However, Sinner has a clear advantage on hard courts, winning 32 of his last 33 matches. The 2025 US Open also marks the eighth consecutive Grand Slam dominated by the Sinner–Alcaraz pair, since Djokovic’s victory at this tournament in 2023.
