Following back-to-back defeats, Leeds managed to achieve a crucial victory over West Ham in the 9th round of the Premier League.

Leeds United started perfectly from the 3rd minute. Brenden Aaronson was quick to capitalize on a rebound inside the penalty area, firing a low shot into the center of the goal to open the scoring 1-0 for Leeds. At the 15th minute, from a perfect corner by Sean Longstaff, Joe Rodon jumped high and headed the ball down against the post, increasing the score to 2-0.

West Ham nearly reduced the deficit in the 34th minute when Lucas Paqueta took a precise shot after a chaotic situation. However, this goal was disallowed by VAR at the 36th minute due to offside. Near the end of the first half, Leeds had to make an involuntary substitution as Gabriel Gudmundsson got injured, replaced by James Justin. The first half ended with Leeds leading 2-0.

In the second half, West Ham pushed forward aggressively to find a goal, while Leeds made substitutions to strengthen their defense. At the 59th minute, Brenden Aaronson had a chance to seal the match, but his shot was blocked by a West Ham defender and rebounded off the post.

At the 90th minute, West Ham finally scored to narrow the score to 2-1. Jarrod Bowen delivered a beautiful aerial ball into the box, and substitute Mateus Fernandes headed the ball neatly near the left post.
