Goalkeeper Nguyễn Filip gave support to his younger teammate Thành Vinh after CAHN's unfortunate 1-1 draw with Macarthur on October 23.
On the night of October 23, CAHN FC was held to a regrettable 1-1 draw by Macarthur FC at Hàng Đẫy Stadium. The home team scored first in the first half and played better overall. However, a turning point came late in the second half. In the 72nd minute, coach Mano Polking had to substitute goalkeeper Nguyễn Filip due to a recurring injury, bringing on Thành Vinh. Lacking experience, the 20-year-old keeper conceded a goal four minutes later.
Shortly after the match ended, the Vietnamese-German goalkeeper expressed encouragement for his teammate. On his personal page, Filip Nguyễn wrote: "It was a painful moment for me. But Vinh did his job well — keep pushing, my friend."
Thành Vinh, born in 2005, is a product of CAHN’s youth academy. In 2024, he started his professional career playing for Hoà Bình FC in the National First Division. This season, he was registered by the police-affiliated club to compete in the V-League. Although he has yet to make a standout debut, the future looks very promising for the 2005-born player.
As for Nguyễn Filip, he suffered a leg injury a few days ago but still tried to play in this crucial match. After the game, coach Mano Polking revealed:
"I had to replace Filip because of his leg problem. Two days before the match, Filip was still in pain. I told him how important the game was and tried to convince him to play, but the pain worsened as he continued. By the 72nd minute, Filip no longer felt confident to keep going, so I decided to take him off."
Given this situation, Nguyễn Filip's participation in upcoming matches with CAHN is uncertain, as is his involvement in the Vietnam national team’s FIFA Days training camp in November.
