If he maintains his current impressive form, Dinh Xuan Tien is sure to be an important figure for the Vietnam U22 squad at SEA Games 33.
In recent rounds, the Vietnam U23 players have all shown impressive performances with their respective clubs. Among them, midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien has attracted attention by scoring in two consecutive matches for The Cong Viettel Club.
In round 6, the 2003-born player scored the only goal that helped the soldier team secure a point against Ninh Binh FC. In the latest round 7, Xuan Tien was again brought on by coach Popov in the second half. At the 69th minute, he delivered a beautiful volley to equalize 1-1 for Viettel.
Dinh Xuan Tien’s impressive comeback and efforts in The Cong Viettel jersey recently have likely pleased coach Kim Sang Sik. This also serves as a solid foundation for his return to the Vietnam U23 national team, especially for the upcoming friendly matches in China.
Dinh Xuan Tien is considered one of Vietnam’s promising midfielders. With good goal-scoring ability, speed, and dribbling skills that create breakthroughs, he was quickly called up to youth teams. However, over the past year, he has often been absent.
Speaking to the media, Xuan Tien affirmed he is always ready if called up to the national team, especially the U23 squad aiming for SEA Games 33 and the AFC U23 Championship. The player from Nghe An said he will work hard every day to seize future opportunities.
Previously, at the Southeast Asian U23 Championship in July, Dinh Xuan Tien was included in the preliminary list but was later removed by coach Kim Sang Sik. He did not participate in the AFC U23 qualifiers in September. In early October, he was called up again but missed the U23 Vietnam training camp in UAE due to injury.
