Lamine Yamal continues to break boundaries in the Champions League

Barcelona's young talent, Lamine Yamal, continues to achieve incredible milestones by setting a new record in the UEFA Champions League.

The winger born in 2007 is increasingly establishing himself as one of the most promising talents worldwide thanks to his speed, technique, and exquisite ball control. At just 18 years old, Yamal has become an indispensable key player for Barcelona whenever he is fit.

Returning from injury, Yamal was included in the starting lineup by coach Hansi Flick in the match a dominant 6-1 victory over Olympiacos on Tuesday night (21/10). This was his 25th appearance in the Champions League, making Yamal the youngest player ever (18 years, 100 days) to reach this milestone, surpassing the previous record held by PSG’s Zaire-Emery (19 years, 32 days).

Not stopping there, Yamal also scored a penalty in the second half, becoming the second youngest player ever to score from the spot in the history of Europe’s most prestigious competition.

Since his first-team debut, Yamal has continuously broken age and performance records. He has become:

• The youngest player to play in the Champions League knockout stage.
• The second youngest player to score in the Champions League, only behind teammate Ansu Fati.
