Bellingham shines as Dortmund secures an emphatic 4-2 victory

(Football result) - Jude Bellingham registered his first contribution with a key assist to Felix Nmecha, aiding Borussia Dortmund in their 4-2 triumph against Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund achieved an impressive 4-2 win against Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage, highlighted by Felix Nmecha’s brilliance and the debut impact of newcomer Jude Bellingham.

The match at Signal Iduna Park started energetically from the opening moments. Coach Kovac continued to give Jude Bellingham a starting spot, the £27 million signing from Sunderland, after the young English player performed well in the previous game, and his confidence was duly rewarded.

In the 20th minute, Bellingham skillfully maneuvered before delivering a precise through ball to Felix Nmecha, who broke free. The German midfielder unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box, opening the scoring for Dortmund. This was also Bellingham’s first assist since joining the Ruhr club.

However, the home team’s joy was short-lived. At the 33rd minute, Dortmund’s defense made a silly mistake. After the opponent’s shot was blocked, Ramy Bensebaini accidentally struck his teammate Waldemar Anton while trying to clear the ball, causing it to deflect into their own net and allowing Copenhagen to equalize 1-1.

In the second half, Dortmund pushed forward aggressively to find a goal. In the 61st minute, Serhou Guirassy was fouled inside the box, and Bensebaini, who had erred on the previous goal, calmly converted the penalty to restore the home team’s lead.

Buoyed by the goal, Dortmund maintained their dominance. In the 76th minute, Nmecha completed his brace with a shot from outside the box that slightly deflected off a Copenhagen defender, leaving goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski helpless.

Towards the end, Jude Bellingham tried to score his first goal for Dortmund but was unsuccessful. Instead, former Wolves player Fabio Silva netted the fourth goal for the hosts with a perfect counterattack in the 85th minute.

Copenhagen managed a consolation goal in the 89th minute thanks to a header from Viktor Dadason, narrowing the score to 2-4.

This victory gives Borussia Dortmund 7 points from 3 games, building momentum ahead of their away match against Manchester City. Meanwhile, Copenhagen remains winless with just 1 point from a draw against Bayer Leverkusen and a 0-2 loss to Qarabag.
