With Henan defeating Guoan 2-0, Shenhua and Taishan drawing 3-3, and Chengdu winning 1-0, the latest CSL standings show major upheaval in the top four.

On September 13th Beijing time, the CSL reignited with the 24th round featuring four high-profile matches. League leaders Chengdu held onto first place with a 1-0 win over Yatai, Henan pulled off an upset by shutting out Guoan 2-0, Shenhua and Taishan battled to a thrilling 3-3 draw, and Haigang comfortably beat newly promoted Yunnan 4-2. This latest update to the standings sees Chengdu extending their lead while the top four positions have become highly unsettled!

Haigang vs. Yunnan. Haigang had drawn with Tianjin and suffered a heavy loss to Chengdu in the previous two rounds, going winless. Facing newly promoted Yunnan this round, despite missing a penalty early on, Haigang quickly regained momentum with a goal to break the deadlock. Yunnan responded fiercely, equalizing soon after. In the second half, Haigang’s offense exploded, scoring three goals in 11 minutes to lead 4-1. Yunnan scored again to narrow the gap, but Haigang controlled the game’s tempo thereafter, securing a 4-2 victory and a much-needed rebound. Liu Ruofan shined with 2 goals, 1 assist, and winning a penalty, while Leonardo contributed a goal and an assist!

Chengdu vs. Yatai. In the previous round, Chengdu dethroned Haigang with a 4-1 win to claim first place. This match against bottom-ranked Yatai saw Chengdu eager to consolidate their lead. Chengdu dominated the field, opening the scoring with a set-piece goal by Wei Shihao. They pressed hard but failed to convert further chances. Near the end, Chengdu faced a setback with a red card, but the team held firm to repel Yatai’s counterattacks. Ultimately, Chengdu secured a hard-fought 1-0 win, achieving a third consecutive victory and maintaining their top spot!

Henan vs. Guoan. The two sides recently met in the FA Cup, where Henan eliminated Guoan to reach the final. This rematch drew attention to whether Henan would complete a double over Guoan or if Guoan would avenge the loss. The match defied expectations as Henan dominated throughout, relentlessly attacking and overwhelming Guoan, who offered no resistance. The game ended with Henan winning decisively 2-0!

Shenhua vs. Taishan. This intense clash between two strong teams featured attacking football and dramatic swings. Shenhua took the lead three times, but an explosive performance by Wako, who scored a hat-trick, helped Taishan equalize at 3-3. Both sides shared a point. With this result, Shenhua has managed only one win in six rounds and has dropped to third place!
