Nam Định placed in the same group as CAHN at the 2025 National U17 Finals

On the morning of September 8th, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) together with Thai Son Nam Group Joint Stock Company organized the event to reveal the principal sponsor and draw the fixtures for the 2025 National U17 Championship – Thai Son Nam Cup Finals.

Attending the event were Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen – Deputy Director of Vietnam’s Department of Sports and Physical Training, Mr. Tran Anh Tu – Vice President of VFF; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi – Standing Member of VFF Executive Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Phu – General Secretary of VFF, along with representatives from the Secretariat and functional departments of VFF. Representing the main sponsor, Thai Son Nam Group Joint Stock Company, was Mr. Tran Anh Minh – General Director.

In his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu – General Secretary of VFF emphasized: “The National U17 Championship plays a crucial role in Vietnam’s youth football development system. It serves as a platform for players aged 16-17 to gain competitive experience and provides clubs and youth football training centers the opportunity to evaluate coaching progress, identify, and nurture outstanding talents for the nation’s football. It is also a chance to discover young prospects preparing for the U17 national team’s participation in the Asian U17 qualifiers this November (hosted in Hanoi), and the National U17 Finals this year will also serve as a foundation for preparing the youth football tournament system in 2026.”

Mr. Tran Anh Minh – General Director of Thai Son Nam Group Joint Stock Company affirmed: “Youth-level competitions under VFF are extremely valuable platforms for young players. Playing in official tournaments gives them the chance to gain experience, improve their technical and tactical skills, and develop competitive mentality.

The National U17 Championship is an important tournament for young players because this is a pivotal age for their growth and entrance into the highest professional football environment in Vietnam. We are honored to be the sponsor of the 2025 National U17 Finals, with the desire to contribute to football, especially youth football. We hope the U17 Finals will be a solid launching pad that helps develop Vietnam’s national teams in the future.”

Following the success of previous seasons, Thai Son Nam Group Joint Stock Company’s decision to continue sponsoring the 2025 National U17 Finals as the main sponsor is great news for Vietnamese football. This marks the third consecutive year Thai Son Nam has held the role of main sponsor. Previously, Thai Son Nam had continuously supported the tournament for eight years from 2011 to 2018, playing a significant role in the development of the national youth football competition.

After the qualification stage, the National U17 Finals have identified 12 teams competing, divided into 3 groups. According to the draw results, Group A includes: Ho Chi Minh City Football Club, Hanoi Police, Nam Dinh, and Da Nang. Group B features Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, HAGL, Hanoi, and SLNA. Meanwhile, Group C consists of Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, PVF-CAND, and Viettel Army Football Club.

Following the announcement of the main sponsor, the Organizing Committee conducted the draw to arrange the match schedule for the Finals. Accordingly, after the qualification round, the 2025 National U17 Finals – Thai Son Nam Cup identified 12 competing teams, divided into 3 groups. Based on the draw, Group A includes: Ho Chi Minh City Football Club, Hanoi Police, Nam Dinh, and Da Nang. Group B features Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, HAGL, Hanoi, and SLNA. Group C contains Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, PVF-CAND, and Viettel Army Football Club.

The 2025 National U17 Finals – Thai Son Nam Cup will take place in Ba Ria Ward (Ho Chi Minh City) from September 14th to 26th, featuring 12 teams divided into 3 groups (4 teams per group) competing in a single round-robin format to earn points and rankings. The three group winners, three runners-up, and the two best third-placed teams will qualify for the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final.

The opening matches on September 14th will showcase the following fixtures: An Giang vs. Ho Chi Minh City, Song Lam Nghe An vs. Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, PVF CAND vs. Viettel Army, and LBPank HAGL vs. Hanoi.

The opening ceremony of the 2025 National U17 Finals – Thai Son Nam Cup will be held at 3:45 PM on September 15th at Ba Ria Stadium, prior to the match between Ho Chi Minh City Football Club and SHB Da Nang. The VFF, in cooperation with VTVCab, will broadcast some matches live on the Onfootball/Onsports channels.
