Kylian Mbappe considers Liverpool still the leading candidate for the Premier League championship, though Arsenal and Manchester City will challenge strongly.
Recently, Kylian Mbappe shared his views on this season's Premier League title race.
The French star sees Liverpool as the favorite, but he also thinks this season could belong to Arsenal. Mbappe told Bild: “Of course, Liverpool must be mentioned first because they always strive to win one trophy after another. But I also have high hopes for Arsenal, as their core squad has been together for a long time, which is a key factor in football. Manchester City are always among the frontrunners with Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland.”
When asked for a definite pick, he answered: “It's tough. It could be Arsenal; this might be their year. Naturally, it's easier to say Man City or Liverpool.”
Mbappe is also well aware of Arsenal after their memorable Champions League quarter-final clash last season. The “Gunners” won 3-0 at Emirates with two stunning free-kicks by Declan Rice, then sealed the tie with a 2-1 victory at Bernabeu thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Additionally, Mbappe was asked about his prediction for this season's Champions League: “I always say Real Madrid. But Europe has many strong teams, very many. We saw last season was fantastic with the new Champions League format. This year will be even more exciting. It will be interesting to see who ultimately takes the crown.”
This season, under Alonso’s guidance, Mbappe has been in excellent form for Los Blancos. The French striker has scored 3 goals in 3 La Liga matches. Notably, in the 2024/25 season, although Real finished empty-handed, Mbappe earned both the La Liga top scorer award and the European Golden Shoe.
