Draper injured, Chelsea halts Jackson's loan to Bayern and signs Gancho to strengthen the attack.

In the third round of the Premier League, during the London derby, Chelsea managed a tough 2-0 win over Fulham to take the lead. In this game, England striker Draper, who started as the number 9, was unexpectedly injured and forced off the field. Afterward, Chelsea's Maresca confirmed that Draper's injury is quite severe, and the forward is expected to be out of action for as long as eight weeks.

Chelsea originally planned to loan their third striker Jackson to Bayern for one year, with a loan fee of €15 million, including a €65 million buyout clause, plusa clause for profit sharing on a second transfer, effectively selling Jackson for a record €80 million. However, due to Draper's unexpected serious injury, Maresca now needs a two-striker starting tactic, with João Pedro playing as the second forward. Therefore, Chelsea immediately stopped Jackson’s loan move to Bayern, who was already in Munich. Since the deal was not finalized, Jackson is set to return to London immediately to continue playing for Chelsea, filling in for Draper.

Besides recalling Jackson, Chelsea also quickly signed Gancho, with a transfer fee of £40 million plus 10% profit sharing on future transfers, signing a seven-year contract until 2032. The 21-year-old Argentine forward Gancho is valued at €45 million by Transfermarkt and last season played 58 matches across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists, making him one of only two players at Manchester United with near double-double stats.

With Draper injured, Chelsea has halted Jackson’s loan to Bayern and signed Gancho, further strengthening their attacking line. This season, Chelsea is definitely set to be one of the title contenders in the Premier League.
