CAHN Club achieved a 4-2 win over Hanoi FC, featuring Vietnamese overseas midfielder Brandon Ly’s first match registration.
At the post-match press conference after the third round of the LPBank V-League 2025/26, Coach Mano Polking shared: "He just joined the club, and we have provided the best training conditions. Based on his training results and integration, I decided to give Brandon Ly a chance to play.
Naturally, debuting in the V-League is not easy; he needs more time to adapt and get up to speed. Brandon trains very diligently, with strong determination, and I highly appreciate that.
Coach Mano Polking’s positive comments on Brandon Ly
We shouldn’t rush young players like Brandon Ly, who has only been with the team for 1–2 months, making immediate adaptation difficult. The most important thing is progress, and I will definitely continue to provide opportunities."
Regarding the 4-2 victory in the derby against Hanoi FC, Mr. Polking said: "We started the match well and adapted quickly. In the first half, we controlled possession, created many chances, and dominated the opponent. However, in the final minutes of the second half, the team relaxed somewhat, allowing the opponent to gain the upper hand.
Still, I highly value the players’ fighting spirit and tactical discipline. This was one of our best performances recently. However, we need to maintain focus for the remainder of the season.
For about 80 minutes, the team performed well, but the last 10 minutes were somewhat disorganized and unfocused. Conceding two goals was unacceptable. In fact, I gave some young players chances to replace key players who had played extensively. I don’t believe it was their fault, but their integration and connection still need improvement in upcoming matches."
Meanwhile, this loss seriously threatens Mr. Makoto Teguramori’s head coach position at Hanoi FC.
"We played as the away team, but in reality, this was also Hang Day’s home ground. The whole team anticipated difficulties, and the result was very disappointing. After falling behind by two goals, Hanoi FC left many gaps exposed.
There are many reasons for our poor start this season. Only a week ago did the team have a full squad, so the lineup has not yet gelled.
I came here hoping to help Hanoi FC win the V-League, but the current results do not meet expectations. The decision regarding my position rests with the club’s leadership. Soon, the V-League will take a break, and we will use that time to improve."
