Coach Choi Won-kwon expresses regret to Thanh Hoa supporters due to the club’s unsatisfactory results following the initial three matches.
Thanh Hoa visited Ha Tinh in the third round of the V-League 2025/2026 under considerable pressure. After the first two rounds, the Thanh Hoa team was at the bottom of the table with only one point and a rather lackluster display. Despite showing strong determination against Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa suffered another disappointing outcome.
Although Thanh Hoa controlled possession more, the team struggled significantly and lost narrowly 0-1 due to a goal conceded from a corner kick. After three rounds, Thanh Hoa has only 1 point, scored just one goal, and remains at the bottom of the standings. Following the match, head coach Choi Won Kwon apologized to the home supporters:
“First of all, I want to apologize to the fans and supporters of Thanh Hoa Club because we have not been able to secure a victory. My players are currently not in good physical condition. Thanh Hoa Club needs more time to adapt and make appropriate tactical and personnel adjustments to aim for better results in the future.”
In this match, Thanh Hoa even played at a disadvantage as Ribamar was unable to participate due to fitness issues, and key striker Rimario was substituted early in the 65th minute. From that point on, Thanh Hoa played with an all-domestic attacking lineup but still could not make a difference.
Thus, after three official matches leading Thanh Hoa Club, Coach Choi Won Kwon has yet to achieve a win, recording two losses and one draw, with only one goal scored. Despite having a relatively strong squad, Thanh Hoa’s early-season performance is very concerning.
Following the loss to Ha Tinh, Coach Choi Won Kwon received more bad news as key midfielder Doan Ngoc Tan suffered a serious injury. Doan Ngoc Tan broke three ribs, requiring surgery and expected to be sidelined for 2-3 months, which will undoubtedly impact Thanh Hoa Club’s overall playing style significantly.
