Arteta: 'The Emirates is the foundation for Arsenal to conquer the Premier League'

Coach Mikel Arteta confirmed that the Emirates Stadium serves as the "emotional support" for Arsenal in their pursuit of the Premier League crown.

Arsenal will host Leeds United in the second round of the Premier League, aiming to extend their strong start with a second consecutive win. According to Coach Mikel Arteta, home form is always crucial in the quest for the title, and the Emirates stands as an "emotional fortress" due to the special bond between the team and its fans.

Arteta shared ahead of the match: “The first home game is always very special. The atmosphere generates a unique energy. We have missed the fans, and I believe they have missed the team as well.”

In the last three seasons finishing as runners-up, Arsenal started strongly at Emirates: beating Leicester City 4-2 (2022), Nottingham Forest 2-1 (2023), and Wolves 2-0 (2024). This strengthens Arteta’s belief that the team will maintain their explosive momentum from the very first rounds.

This season, Arsenal has a clear goal: to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2004. Arteta made it clear: “We are here to win major trophies, continuously improve and progress. That comes with high demands, and we are ready to face them.”

The team quickly reinforced their squad early in the summer with new signings Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyökeres, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Cristhian Mosquera, and recently completed the deal for Eberechi Eze. Arteta praised the professionalism of Sporting Director Andrea Berta and hopes the newcomers will inject fresh energy into the squad.

Additionally, Arsenal secured stability by extending Leandro Trossard’s contract until 2027. The Belgian has been regarded as a “super substitute” since joining in January 2023 and continues to play a vital role in the long-term plan.

Arteta, who has elevated Arsenal since taking charge in 2019, stated his greatest motivation is to make the team stronger, more united, and closer to the trophies that fans have long awaited.
