Disgrace! BLG eliminated at the Round of 16! Bin declared last year: If we only reach the Round of 16, I won’t want to play next year.

BLG was defeated 1-2 by TES in the S15 World Championship Swiss stage BO3, ending their run at the Round of 16. As the number one seed from LPL, they were eliminated without encountering any LCK teams, marking a shameful first for an LPL team in the Swiss stage.

After the match, BLG’s official account exploded with comments. Many Knight fans angrily said: They support BLG because of Knight, but the coach is terrible. Before Knight joined, BLG had no honors; Knight carried the whole team. Yet in the final decisive game, they didn’t trust Knight and picked a subpar champion for him—deserved to lose! Some fans also criticized: The top seed didn’t face a strong team and still got eliminated in the Round of 16. It’s laughable. You owe the fans the most!

LPL official commentators Maomao, Guan Zeyuan, and 957 discussed BLG’s defeat. They believed that in game three, TES’s draft got stronger as the match progressed. After 369’s Malphite locked down Jax, TES’s two carries posed little threat. Redmi’s drafts in the last two games were excellent; Galio was deliberately left open, anticipating BLG picking Jax. BLG seemed increasingly lost as the games went on—playing well in the LPL finals but confused in the Swiss stage. Their coordination fell apart, the gameplay became chaotic, and their preparation was inferior to TES, whose draft clearly targeted BLG based on research.

Notably, before this match, Bin boldly declared in a promo video: “We will go to Shanghai, we will go to Chengdu, and claim the championship!” After being eliminated, this statement, like all Bin’s past bold claims, turned into a joke. Speaking big and getting harshly beaten again, Bin has once more broken his promise.

Fans also uncovered that in last year’s BLG documentary, Bin said he would quit if they only reached the Round of 16. Now that they have indeed stopped at the Round of 16 a year later, this statement has become a target again. However, Bin’s retirement seems unlikely. On one hand, he gave his best with Jax in this match; on the other, he remains one of LPL’s top players. During the transfer period, teams will surely want him, so retirement is more likely to become a meme than reality.

BLG’s biggest failure is losing repeatedly to Western teams. Losing one game is understandable, but losing to both 100 Thieves and G2 is inexplicable. This made every subsequent match very difficult. The key issue is they can’t beat Western teams but keep claiming they want the world championship and that their favorite opponent is T1. They talk big but can’t even handle Western teams. After these losses, fans, haters, and neutral viewers all criticize them heavily—truly a deserved backlash.

For TES, after surviving this critical BO3, hopefully they can transform again. They will likely face even stronger LCK teams in upcoming BO5 matches, requiring more solid gameplay to win. Although they won this BO3, their form didn’t look great, with many mistakes. Facing LCK teams like that is still very dangerous. They need to use the next few days to prepare thoroughly and perform well in the upcoming BO5 series!
