LPL suffers a major blow! TES swiftly exits with a 0-2 loss, heading into the elimination round, while GEN displays championship caliber.

Greetings to all LPL fans and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game Hub.

At the S15 World Championship Swiss stage, the spotlight match between TES and GEN saw GEN claim the first game comfortably in less than 24 minutes, and TES responded with a powerful teamfight composition in the second, yet GEN dismantled them in successive clashes.

In the end, GEN swept TES effortlessly and successfully advanced to the quarterfinals.

Creamy Azir makes an appearance, GEN dominates the dragon fight.

During the draft phase of the second game, TES on blue side put together a lineup with maximum early to mid-game aggression, locking in the controversial "Creamy" Azir in the mid lane, paired with strong top jungle and bottom lane burst damage. GEN, responding second, selected a more straightforward, physical damage-heavy team with three physical DPS in mid, jungle, and bot, along with a tanky Ornn top.

Comparing compositions, TES lacks a tank and focuses on resource control and pinpoint assassinations, while GEN boasts a flexible multi-engage system with ample room for Yone to perform.

At the start, "Creamy" Azir performed well in lane, heavily damaging Chovy. Kanavi’s tower dive attempt failed, as his Q missed over the wall, while Canyon’s Jarvan successfully ganked and killed "Creamy," energizing the mid lane matchup. TES then grouped three players to tower dive Kiin, while GEN secured the first dragon and two Rift Scuttlers.

TES’s subsequent two attempts to target Chovy both failed, with Chovy demonstrating sharp awareness.

After the second dragon respawn, TES tried to catch Chovy first but missed the kill. When both teams positioned, TES retreated, with 369 teleporting in to engage, but GEN initiated with top lane’s double ultimates, instantly killing the female tank.

Teamfight collapse, GEN advances to the quarterfinals with ease.

In the following teamfight, GEN executed brilliant kiting and managed to kill multiple opponents. Although 369 severely damaged several enemies, he only secured a single kill on Jarvan. TES’s counterattack failed as "Creamy" Azir’s attempt to kill Kai’Sa ended in a full team wipe.

GEN then attempted a tower dive on 369 in the top lane but failed. Kanavi’s ultimate arrived to assist teammates in a counterattack, securing one kill.

During the chase, TES killed another enemy and then used the Rift Herald to destroy two towers in succession, while GEN took down the mid lane’s second turret.

At 20 minutes, TES’s 369 teleported in to coordinate with Azir and female tank to try to kill Yone, but Chovy stalled extensively, allowing his teammates to arrive and instantly kill Azir. This decisive teamfight was a crushing victory for GEN, leaving TES at a significant disadvantage.

At 22 minutes, GEN secured the dragon that would grant them a win condition, then focused down Kanavi for a kill. In the ensuing teamfight, TES killed the overextended Jarvan, and Azir’s ultimate successfully countered Chovy’s engage. 369 then cleaned up four kills, turning the fight around.

At 26 minutes, Hang initiated a fight mid but failed and died.

GEN’s Jarvan then used EQ Flash to initiate on JKL, coordinating with Kai’Sa to kill Yuyana, and easily won the teamfight.

GEN shows championship form, LPL’s outlook looks grim.

After taking Baron, TES aggressively pushed and initiated another fight, killing Ornn first, but the teamfight collapsed immediately. GEN easily wiped TES and ended the game, advancing to the quarterfinals with a 3-1 record in the Swiss stage.

In my opinion, after this match, GEN has clearly displayed strong championship potential. Despite TES drafting well in both games, GEN made almost zero mistakes throughout, with all five players performing at their peak, showing excellent game reading and counter-gank abilities.

TES’s multiple offensive attempts failed, and Kanavi’s jungle performance was underwhelming. Without jungle control, TES’s gameplay became much harder. Their teamfight composition rarely found openings, and support Hang also made many errors.

Facing a team like GEN, from all the Swiss stage teams, it seems only AL might still have a chance. However, AL’s win over GEN was in a BO1, and in a BO5 series, defeating GEN would be very difficult. Overall, LPL’s chances of winning the championship currently look quite bleak.
