S15 Swiss Round: GEN Dominates TES 2-0 to Secure Quarterfinal Spot

In the 2025 League of Legends World Championship Swiss Round Round 4 Group 2-1, GEN beat TES 2-0 to qualify for the playoffs, sending TES to Group 2-2.

Game One

GEN: Rek'Sai, Vi, Taliyah, Lucian, Braum

TES: Sion, Xin Zhao, Aphelios, Corki, Neeko

At the start, TES’s three players dived under the tower in the bot lane to kill GEN’s Braum and secure first blood. However, Kiin’s consecutive plays in a top lane team fight helped GEN gain an advantage. At 11 minutes, GEN attempted a bot lane tower dive but TES turned it into a 1-for-2 trade. Kanavi had little early impact, while Canyon was actively seeking opportunities.

At 15 minutes, GEN took Rift Herald and used it to destroy TES’s mid lane outer turret. Chovy’s Taliyah empowered Aphelios, and GEN won a team fight 4-for-0, gaining a huge lead and taking down TES’s mid inner turret. Despite Hang’s perfect initiation, TES lacked damage to capitalize on the numbers advantage and GEN steadily snowballed. At 21 minutes, GEN exploited TES’s recall timing to quickly take Baron Nashor, extending their gold lead to 10,000. At 24 minutes, GEN wiped TES in a bot lane fight and pushed straight to win the match easily.

Game Two

TES: Rumble, Pantheon, Azir, Yuumi, Leona

GEN: Ornn, Jarvan IV, Yone, Kai'Sa, Rakan

Yuumi pressured Chovy heavily in lane, and both junglers were maneuvering around the map. Canyon made the first move, securing first blood on Yuumi. Then Kanavi and Hang teamed up top to help 369 dive Kiin. At 15 minutes, both teams contested the second dragon, with GEN claiming it and wiping TES’s entire team, securing another strong early advantage.

TES secured Rift Herald and used it to kill Kiin and Chovy in the top lane, pushing down two turrets. However, GEN took down both TES mid lane turrets. At 20 minutes, TES tried to catch someone top, but Chovy’s Yone stalled for teammates to arrive, allowing GEN to counterattack and kill four TES players, then take Baron.

GEN then secured the soul dragon and fought TES in the river, where Ahsu and Yuumi dealt massive damage resulting in a 4-for-2 trade. At 28 minutes, Hang initiated mid but died immediately; Chovy’s Yone ult entered and killed Ahsu. GEN wiped TES in mid lane and took Baron. TES tried to engage to stop GEN from securing the Dragon Soul, but GEN’s dual carry damage was overwhelming, leading to another team wipe. GEN ultimately won the match and advanced to the S15 quarterfinals.
