What a year for LPL! TheShy has become the all-time number one, the best lineup has been announced, and JKL emerges as the winner.

Greetings to all LPL fans and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game Report.

The LPL third stage playoffs will start tomorrow, and today the official best lineup selections were announced. Upon seeing this best lineup, many viewers expressed surprise at how much has changed.

The biggest winners are undoubtedly TES, with the all-star IG team coming in second.

TheShy becomes the all-time number one, JKL is the winner.

In earlier discussions, most fans believed TheShy had a strong chance to be selected for the first best lineup and even contend for the MVP. As expected, TheShy became the only IG player to make the first lineup, achieving seven first-line selections, ranking first in LPL history.

TES had three players selected for the first lineup, making them the biggest winners at the team level.

These three players are Kanavi, JKL, and Hang. Previously, caster Maomao shared his vote, giving first lineup to Meiko, which some fans questioned as biased, but the final result of three TES players being selected was widely accepted.

Knight was chosen as the mid laner. Although BLG’s performance in the third stage was disappointing, Knight played many clutch games. His overall performance, while below his peak, still outshined other mids, which was generally undisputed.

Overall, there was little controversy about the first lineup results. In the MVP selection, JKL was the winner, earning his first regular season MVP award, an important addition to his personal honors. This year, JKL won both the FMVP and MVP, dispelling previous criticisms about his lack of individual accolades and firmly proving his strength.

What a time it is, LPL is seriously aging.

For the second best lineup, IG had the most players selected: Rookie, GALA, and Meiko. The top laner was 369, and the jungler was Tarzan from AL team. This outcome was also largely expected.

It’s a bit unfortunate for Tarzan, as his overall performance this stage was less impressive.

The key will be whether Tarzan can have a breakout performance in the playoffs. Many other players also have the potential to show completely different individual performances compared to the regular season.

The third lineup included five players: Flandre, WEI, Crème, Elk, and On.

BLG and Shadow were the only teams without any players selected. Honestly, Bin’s performance was disappointing, with many poor games, and Elk’s contribution wasn’t particularly strong either.

Overall, the best lineup selections this time were mostly undisputed, but the prestige compared to previous years has declined significantly because there were fewer clashes between top-tier players or teams. Many felt that the selected players were mostly veterans, especially IG and TES’s “Incheon Three C,” which made many wonder what year it really is.

The three major LPL players all rank first simultaneously.

Notably, the first lineup players for top, mid, and jungle all reached the number one spot in history, each with seven first-line selections. Another player with seven first-line selections is Ming. These four players share the top historical ranking and are among the best performers with the longest peak periods in league history.

However, among these four, only TheShy has an S-tier world championship. This shows that players who have won the S championship in the LPL region often struggle to maintain their peak form, which is a pity for the LPL.

This best lineup also exposed the biggest problem in the LPL region: young players are not keeping up, and it’s becoming difficult to produce top-tier rookies. Although some newcomers have shown flashes in recent years, they often only perform well for one season before declining, making it hard for them to truly develop.

I personally believe that with this trend, the LPL’s competitiveness at the World Championship will soon be surpassed by the LCK by a wide margin. In the future, LPL’s world-level results and strength might align with the LEC, and then the LCK could very well bring about the grand finale of League of Legends esports.
