Hello everyone, I’m Game Brother Xiao.

King of Glory recently unveiled the skill effects of Yang Jian’s 10th anniversary limited skin Zongmu Qianshan, which triggered enthusiastic debates among players. Some believe the skin itself is quite nice, while others think it falls short compared to the Dog Year limited Yongyao Star. So, what’s the real verdict? In this episode, Xiao will compare Yang Jian’s two legendary skins, Yongyao Star and Zongmu Qianshan, to see which one performs better.~

Out-of-game comparison

Interestingly, both Yongyao Star and Zongmu Qianshan share a god-like theme, which is especially evident in their posters. Personally, I prefer the Yongyao Star poster. Although the pose design isn’t very innovative, its art style stands out distinctly, blending realism with a comic style, giving it a unique look. The poster also highlights the Hound of Heaven, emphasizing the feeling of a true battle companion. In contrast, Zongmu Qianshan gives off a vibe of indifference toward all beings.

Regarding modeling, both are highly detailed. Since Zongmu Qianshan was released about five or six years after Yongyao Star, its technology is naturally more advanced, resulting in much better effects. This gives Zongmu Qianshan a clear advantage, especially with its idle animation that can switch to a golden form—an effect comparable to top-tier designs, looking extremely cool. Meanwhile, Yongyao Star has no such features.

In-game comparison

When it comes to skill effects, each skin has its strengths. Zongmu Qianshan excels in detail, such as the blade afterimages on the second skill before transformation, which clearly contain some scenic elements. The ultimate features laser beams descending from the sky; overall, the skill effects are quite grand. The transformation moment is very striking, dominating the center of the screen, and there is a clear depiction of power gathering.

Moreover, Zongmu Qianshan’s biggest advantage is that after activating the ‘Heaven and Earth Alignment’ mode, all skills turn golden instead of the original translucent green effects, a distinction no other skin has. Its downside is that some skill designs are relatively simple—for example, the second phase of the first skill after transformation only shows a basic mask, and the Hound of Heaven effect before transformation looks somewhat inferior.

On the other hand, Yongyao Star offers a pleasing visual experience, possibly due to its skin color, making the effects clearer and more vivid. The skill effects are also quite large, especially the first and second skills after transformation, which provide very rich effects. Personally, I feel it surpasses Zongmu Qianshan in this regard, mainly because Yang Jian was reworked last season, bringing changes to related effects and giving Yongyao Star some bonus improvements. For instance, the pre-transformation effects are much smaller.

After this detailed comparison, which skin do you think is better?
