On September 13th Beijing time, during the EuroBasket semifinals, Turkey triumphed over Greece 98-64, and Şengün plans to honor his previous commitment by gifting a Rolex watch to Osmanlı, the standout player of the match.
Osmanlı scored 14 points in the first 10 minutes and ended the game with 28 points, marking his highest scoring performance in international play. Additionally, he teamed up with Şengün to limit Giannis Antetokounmpo's impact, holding the Greek superstar to just 12 points.
After the game, Şengün revealed, "I told Osmanlı before the match that if he played well, I would give him a Rolex. I will choose the best one for him."
At the post-game press conference, Osmanlı appeared alongside head coach Ataman. Besides sharing his feelings about this crucial victory over Greece, he also received extra praise from the 59-year-old tactical mastermind.
Osmanlı said, "I want to thank the coaching staff for their thorough preparation for this game. I’m very happy to contribute significantly to the team—of course, everyone put in effort for the win."
He also mentioned another teammate’s situation: "I must thank the medical team as well; they helped Osmanlı prepare fully before the game, enabling him to play smoothly. This was vital for us." The 30-year-old forward had previously struggled with an ankle injury but successfully returned and scored 17 points in this match.
