Congratulations, congratulations.
Howard’s official Hall of Fame induction celebrates his NBA career honors such as the 2020 championship, 8 All-Star appearances, 8 All-NBA selections, 3 Defensive Player of the Year trophies, 5 All-Defensive team nods, 5 rebounding titles, 2 blocks titles, and the 2008 Olympic gold medal in Beijing.
Howard’s Hall of Fame sponsors include O'Neal, Ewing, Wilkins, and Parish.
O'Neal as Howard’s endorser? Weren’t they bitter rivals?
They certainly were before, but now they’ve completed a historic reconciliation.
In an interview about this, O'Neal said he purposely wore a floral suit, symbolizing that he was offering flowers to Howard, and that his past criticisms were never malicious but meant to motivate him to improve.
It’s worth mentioning that,Howard was inducted into the Hall of Fame twice, once as a member of the 2008 USA Men's Olympic Basketball Team.
The full list of this year’s Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductees is as follows:
Anthony, Howard, Sue Bird, Maya Moore, Sylvia Fowles, Danny Crawford, the 2008 USA Olympic Men’s Basketball Team, Billy Donovan, and Mitch Allison.
Currently a free agent, Westbrook sent his congratulations to this year’s inductees on his personal social media: “Congrats to them, an incredible class.”
As for Westbrook’s next team, no concrete progress has been seen yet; perhaps the situation will only become clear after Kuminga’s status with the Warriors is resolved.
If no NBA team signs him during this summer’s off-season, this veteran might take his talents overseas or quietly retire.
Former teammate and keyboard MVP Perkins is advocating online for Westbrook, expressing a desire to see him join the Bucks, noting he can still contribute a solid 15 points and 8 assists in a game.
The Bucks’ backcourt is thin, currently relying only on Cole Anthony and Trent, and 36-year-old Westbrook is not much worse than them.
But to be honest, the Bucks haven’t just recently needed guards; if they wanted Westbrook, they would have signed him already.
So the idea of Westbrook teaming up with the Bucks sounds great in theory, but the reality is harsh.
Throughout his NBA career so far, Westbrook’s main honors include MVP, 9 All-NBA teams, 2 scoring titles, 3 assist titles, 9 All-Star appearances, and the 2012 Olympic gold medal, and there’s no doubt he will be a Hall of Famer in the future.
